6 Underground (Perfecto Mix) || Sneaker Pimps
I’m open to falling from grace…
Talk about a song with a story behind it! I’ve always wanted to dance to 6 Underground, almost as long as I’ve wanted to be a dancer. This mix may just make my desire come real. The original was always challengingly slow for me…

Behind the Music: Personal Jesus
A small series on stories behind why I dance to certain songs.
I figure it’s best to start at the beginning. Marilyn Manson’s cover of Personal Jesus is the first song I’ve ever stripped to. I love Marilyn Manson and I love covers, so let’s get that out of the way. And since it was my first, it always reminds me of those emotions, all those reasons and freedoms I found there.

Remedy || Little Boots
I will not be frozen, dancing is my remedy.
Not stage material for me, but I love Little Boots and I can get behind the song content, so I wanted to share it!

No One Knows || Queens of the Stone Age
And I realize you’re mine; indeed, a fool am I.
This is definitely being added to the set list when I return to work. I’m not changing many songs; just taking off Heaven’s a Lie and adding a few new ones. Also taking suggestions.

Stripper Friends || Aimee Allen
Got your finger on the trigger of your favourite black dress.
Bet you didn’t know Aimee Allen did it first, before Tila Tequila. Aimee’s got a fun grunge-sounding pop style: I’d Start A Revolution was one of my theme songs in high school. Check her out.

All That I’m Living For || Evanescence
Lock the last open door, my ghosts are gaining on me.
I’ve overcome the shame from dancing to Evanescence. I don’t care. I’ll own it. I fucking love dancing to post-Fallen Evanescence. So there. ‘Sweet Sacrifice’ is one of my favourites already. Which brings up the question, which to add now: this, or Cloud Nine? Or both?

War Pigs || Black Sabbath
In the fields the bodies burning as the war machine keeps turning.
Part of me really wants to add this to my set. I don’t know why. I think it’d be fun, but it’s so long and not very sexy… I’m considering a bunch of new songs, so there’ll be a few music posts this week. Especially if the shifts keep being so bloody boring.
