Immigrant Song || Karen O.
I come from the land of the ice and snow…
As some of you know, I’ve been looking for this song for six bloody months. And finally, finally! It is miiiiiine! Cue gleeful maniacal laughter. Oh yes.

Take Me Home Tonight || Hinder
I don’t want to let you go till you see the light.
It’s been awhile since I posted an .mp3, so here’s the latest cover I’ve found. I also love Versa Emerge’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ Paint it Black, Marilyn Manson’s cover of You Spin Me Round, and HIM or Giant Drag’s cover of Wicked Game.

Notes in Constellations || Chiodos
We dance around just like constellations.
While I’m on the topic of music, I think this may be added to my set. Chiodos is far from my usual style, but something about this new song is sexy to me. It’s actually a tribute to his departed friend and their girlfriends. What do you all think of it for stage use?

Crazy In the Deep || Adele vs. Gnarls Barkley
The scars of your love remind me of us.
For those of you who loved the Dutchstep’s dubstep remix of Rolling in the Deep, here’s another one for your palette. Good to know the whole music world is pretty much obsessed with this song. It’s only been out for half a year and already I know way too many covers, mashups, and remixes of it. Of course, ‘too many’ is a relative term.

This is What Rock N’ Roll Looks Like || Porcelain Black
Baby the beast is yours to chase.
New material from Porcelain Black—formerly Porcelain and the Tramps. She was signed, and stuff, and this features Lil Wayne (though barely). This is… definitely an interesting direction for her. I’m… not sure how to feel about it. At all. I think I might hate it?

Rolling In The Deep (Dubstep Remix) || Adele
There’s a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch…
So, I’m not the world’s biggest fan of Adele, but I like this song and Set Fire to the Rain (and her cover of Lovesong is labouriously slow but decent) and was considering dancing to the original version of Rolling, but this is a fun remix I’m not sure I can argue with.

Sweet Dreams || Emily Browning
…Some of them want to get used by you.
A little long but definitely worth the listen. The breakdown around 3 minutes is stellar. The original was heady, Manson’s was gritty, this is haunting. It comes off the Sucker Punch forthcoming soundtrack; the singer is also the lead, Babydoll.

Closer || Kings Of Leon
Driven by the strangle of vein; showing no mercy, I’d do it again.
I’m not a Kings of Leon fan in general, but this song in particular makes me go all kinds of UNF and I want to dance to it. Or fuck to it. Or both. This is my parting thought before bed. Sweet dreams.

Wicked Game || Giant Drag
World was on fire and no one could save me but you.
One of the songs Tomm and I discussed last night; he said he liked Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game and I said that was funny because I used to dance to Giant Drag’s cover. The DJ didn’t have it in my file any more, but maybe I should bring it back.

White Rabbit || Egypt Central
We follow, like Alice, and just keep diving down the hole.
Though not a cover of Jefferson Airplane’s White Rabbit, Egypt Central does an entirely different song that I fell all over myself when I heard. I’m a sucker for an Alice-inspired song, what can I say. Added it to my set, waiting to try it on stage.
